Rangers started their new A league campaign with a very good performance, full of composure, desire and chances; only to suffer a surprise loss in a game that was very one side and played almost entirely in the opponents half.
Rangers remained patient throughout, waiting for the right pass as their opponent relied on long balls in between clearing the ball anywhere they could to stop the constant pressure.
Despite missing a penalty, having over 15 corners and not making the most of a number of chances/one on ones; it just wasn't their day. What was hugely positive was the desire to stick to their playing style, principles and belief in possession based football, built from the back.
The squad took the defeat; their first for 10 months; on the chin and focused on the many positives. They look forward to their District Cup game against Pool this Sunday.
There were good performances all over the pitch in a game of hugely contrasting styles.
